 The Mason Dixon Wrestling League (MDWL) is a kids (up to 14 years old) amateur wrestling league concentrated in Northern VA, WV (Panhandle Area), MD (Hagerstown), and PA (south of Gettysburg). The MDWL consists of about 19 teams that practice and compete during the late fall and winter months.  Most teams are active from around the beginning of November to early March.  

Among other things, MDWL strives to introduce wrestling to beginners as well as prepare wrestlers for high school wrestling and teach good sportsmanship.  

The MDWL is for beginning wrestlers up to experienced wrestlers (for all experiences).  Wrestlers will be paired up against someone of equal weight and experience.  The 8-9 events per winter season will be on Sundays around the VA, WV, & MD area.

In order to compete at the end of the year tournament, each wrestler must attend 4 events.  End of the year event groups all experiences together in the age/weight bracket. We expect to see 3 or 4 events to be held in Fairfax or Loudoun.   RHYW plans to host an event(s) in the coming years.  

The goal of our MDWL program is to provide our wrestlers with training and competition opportunities that will allow them to grow as wrestlers while they learn lessons that will help them develop into well rounded individuals.
